The candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Kwara State governorship election held last Saturday, Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi, has stated that he will not congratulate AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the re-elected governor, on his victory.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared AbdulRazaq, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the election on Sunday with 273,424 votes while Yaman received 155,490 votes.
Yaman's Accusation
Yaman accused the election of being marred by electoral malpractices, such as the use of political thugs and intimidation of voters by security forces.
He also alleged that the APC monetized the elections and chased away collation officers in many places.
Yaman stated that he leaves everything to God and that he believes that good will ultimately triumph over evil.
Yaman, who was emotional and close to tears, also chastised some members of his party in certain senatorial districts for their alleged acts of betrayal and anti-party activities.
He urged his supporters to keep the spirit of their movement alive and to prepare for future battles.
